Important information about using FREELANCER by FREY platform and services.
Quick Overview
By using FREELANCER by FREY, you agree to these Terms of Service. We are a platform operated by Freelancer by Frey Ltd, connecting freelance yacht crew with captains, recruiters, and hiring professionals for short-term and relief roles. Freelancer by Frey Ltd is not an employer of users — we facilitate professional connections, but all working relationships and contracts are managed independently by the parties involved.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using FREELANCER by FREY ("the Platform"), you accept and agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree with any part of them, please do not use the Platform.
These terms apply to all users of the Platform, including freelance crew, captains, recruiters, and vessel managers.
2. Description of Service
FREELANCER by FREY is a job-sharing platform for freelance yacht crew roles. Our services include:
- Freelance job posting and application functionality
- An internal messaging system to communicate between parties
- Professional user profiles and account management
- Tools designed to support short-term, freelance, and relief crew recruitment
We do not vet, certify, or guarantee any user or job posting.
3. User Accounts
When you register on the Platform, you must provide accurate and current information. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity under your login credentials.
Sharing your login details or impersonating another individual is strictly prohibited.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Platform professionally and lawfully. You must not:
- Post misleading, fraudulent, or misrepresented jobs or profiles
- Harass or abuse other users
- Use the Platform for unlawful or exploitative activity
- Attempt unauthorised access or interfere with platform security
Accounts may be suspended or terminated at our discretion for violations.
5. Payment Terms
Crew Members:
- To apply for jobs, users must purchase an annual membership for €50 (non-refundable)
- Membership provides unlimited applications and messaging features for 12 months
Job Posters:
- Users must purchase job credits to post freelance roles
- 1 job credit = 1 job post
All payments are processed securely through third-party payment providers. Fees are shown clearly before purchase. Payments are final and non-refundable, except as required by UK consumer law. You can cancel your membership or view credit balances in your account settings.
6. Privacy and Data
We respect your privacy. Our practices are governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. By using the Platform, you consent to the collection, use, and storage of your data in accordance with UK GDPR.
We will never sell your data. Your information is only shared with service providers as necessary to operate the Platform.
7. Limitation of Liability
Freelancer by Frey Ltd operates FREELANCER by FREY solely as a digital platform. We do not guarantee successful job placements or verify user credentials.
We are not liable for:
- The accuracy of user content
- The outcome of any employment or engagement
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, without liability, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms or used the Platform improperly.
You may terminate your account at any time by discontinuing use or contacting our support team.
9. Changes to Terms
We may update or change these Terms occasionally. Material changes will be communicated at least 30 days in advance. Continued use of the Platform after such updates constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
